Hey all, this has probably come up more than once, and after I bought X-men and X2 the other day, it got me thinking. What is planned ahead for Marvel and DC?
I know all about the upcoming Avengers and Marvel titles, but what about the previous ones? I have read comics, and I know not every story crosses over into another character's arc, but what is going to happen to Spiderman and others? I heard all about the 4th movie, but it would be SO awesome to see Sam Raimi get ahold of Favreau or Singer or even Ratner ( who in my opinion gets way too much credit for one movie), and have them take the same actors, and at least put more cameos in. It was really cool to see Downey at the end of The Hulk, and I think it would be cool if the Marvel Universe came together moreso than they have. All I have heard about is The Avengers and the characters pertaining to them. Well, in most of the comics I have read, the Avengers team up with the X-men or Spiderman or others, or at least mention them in a book. So if it seems like I'm ranting, I'll shut up now. I would just like to see the SAME actors cross over into other movies, or at least more cameos, cuz thats just cool.
P.S. - Chris Nolan needs to understand that Batman wasn't the only DC hero, and he also constantly teams up with Superman. So Chris, drop the ego, and get with the program dude.
Also, Spiderman had alot of interaction with the Fantastic Four. In fact, the Fantastic Four had alot of interaction with just about everybody else in the Marvel Universe. The movie was lame, the actors... somewhat expensive, but at least the Human Torch and The Thing would be awesome cameos in other Marvel movies. Let's say the Hulk is going buck wild out of control and out of nowhere you hear "It' clobberin' time!" and now we have an on screen Hulk vs Thing. That would be awesome.
I'd also like to see Blade show up again in someone else's movie. He originally made his appearance in Spiderman when Spiderman was fighting Morbius.

Ya, I was really disappointed that they didn't include fan 4 and the amazing bag-man costume in spidey 3, much less even know that that was an issue and part of that story. Hopefully Sam Raimi will do something cool in the new one, or at least somebody does.

I think that is too expensive to pay an actor ever for a cameo,( mmm digitally maybe?;) ) but I would like to see Daredevil w/ Spidey (they are very good friends), Still Marvel makes movies more frequently than DC but (as a good friend tolde me) the Trinity of DC (Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman) win over any other heroes ,,,,,, still waiting

Well I wish there was a way to "alert" these directors and writers to the needs in these movies. I am totally excited for the Avengers movie, but I am going to be critical of it - The original team needs to fight the hulk when he goes on his rampage, and they need to find Captain America in the ice block. Daredevil and Spidey would be a great team-up, cuz they help each other out alot. Also, If Millar's 8 hour superman epic comes together, he MUST contact Nolan and make him get his shit together. Nolan needs to stop bitching about how great he is, and how he doesn't need to put other characters in his movie, because in what universe is that true? The Marvel universe is starting to understand that, and hopefully in the new X-men Origins movie, they make use of cameos.
Dudester, you mentioned The Hulk and that made me think of watching that movie again the other day. I noticed that Bruce Banner made specific attention to how "stretchy" his pants needed to be in the movie. This shows blatant forethought on the character's part that no matter what rampage the Hulk went on, who got killed, or what was destroyed... above all he was totally worried about his 4 foot Jolly Green Giant knocking cars around while he's trying to take out the Army. It just struck me funny, and I thought I'd share.
To stay on topic though, I'd really like to see Alex Ross's "Kingdom Come" on the big screen. Especially the DC one.

Ya, you're right, in all the comics he was a rogue super hero in a way, and the army was always trying to stop all his rampages. But for heaven's sake, don't rip his pants!!

They're startin to do a lot of graphic novels these days. I want to go to a library and find one that's completely unknown but has a great story. How awesome would that be to just go, pick out a book, and say "hey, I am gonna adapt this one."
On top of my head, I can't think of a random one. But I would certainly like one to be made. I mean "I am Legend" was graphic novel as well as "30 Days Of Night".
While we're in the comic book topic, I'd like to see another installment of "Dr. Horrible".
Someone care to help me go to the library tomorrow and take a look at random graphic novels that would be neat to bring up? Lemme know!
