New Line bought rights for the remake of the ultra violent anime inspired Japanese film. That's all I know.

Correct. Producers Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious, xXx, The Skulls) and Roy Lee (The Ring 1 and 2, The Grudge 1 and 2) are setting it up. The original was quite violent as it showcased teenagers battling each other to the death. It was also an immensely popular film, relatively speaking. I doubt we will get anything more than a watered-down version, but we'll see.

Here's to hopeing they make this movie as awesome as the jap versions. Probably not but we can hope.

Im not holding my breath though as every jap horror movie theyve remade sucked compared to the originals, so yer most likely a watered down version for sure
