This touching little gem recieved a small release in '05. It is now available at your local video store. It stars Julianne Moore and Woody Harrelson in a movie based on a true story set in 50's Ohio. Moore plays the mother of 10 children while married to drunk Harrelson(in a fine return to film). Over the years she supports her family by entering jingle contests that were so popular at the time. A very interesting and humorous look into the lower middle class lifestyle, advertising of the 50's, and the rights of women at the time. By no means does that make this a heavy handed statement picture, but more of a movie in the style of Christmas Story(great recreation of the era and fun storytelling). Predictable but fun entertainment. Shoulda been nominated for something. When you realize this was all true it makes the picture that much more meaningful. Rent, watch, and enjoy.
