I am actually kind of worried for Captain America. Granted, never read the comics and stuff. But what bothers me is that I don't think the suit will look right on film for one. For two, I don't know how they could re-invent him, don't get me wrong. I have a couple ideas, sure. But the problem is how they're going to introduce him, how they are going to portray them. Obviously people are starting to make comic book movies more seriously now. You'd think they do that to begin with. Almost EVERY comic is layered by layered. Since I've never read the comics of Captain America, I would like them to be able to draw my interest and able to give me a good reaction out of the film to make me want to read Capt. America.

It HAS to start in WWII for one and end up with Cap being thawed from ice in modern times for the Avengers. This all seems to be happening the way the comics unfolded so far. I think if they take the look of say "Saving Private Ryan" with his suit and shield blaring out it will look great. Marvel stories were always consistent with one another in the "Marvel Universe" unlike DC. DC threw down cool stories with awesome pictures and each time a new writer or illustrator came in they changes it all up. With the exception of a few costume changes, Marvel pretty much never did this. Their sagas would span through many issues of many different titles and all correlate to the same ultimate story. That being said, the movies are so far on the same track. With the Super-Soldier Serum being alluded to at the end of Hulk, and the later mutated Green Goblin Serum already in the audience view... Cap is pretty much already set up. This plus realizing the character started as U.S. propaganda until the Avengers (and a new outfit) came around, the story almost tells itself. Insert Nazi villain and BAM! Instant superhero classic.

Okay, well that makes more sense. And I guess he's lived for such a long time he'd be pretty wise. Makes more sense that he would be the leader of the Avengers. What also kills me though, is why Wolverine isn't part of the Avengers like he orginally is. I mean, he has his own spin-off, Captain America's gonna cameo in Wolverine's. You'd think he would be a part of it especially since he's been established already...I know a large amount about the comic book world. There are some I don't know about like Captain America or Ant-Man. etc. But to me it would make more sense, be more cooler to replace Antman to Wolverine's.
On other notes, I think The Hulk would make a great villian for The Avengers film. It'd throw everyone off considering he's supposed to be a part of the team. But what they don't know is some people can be drunk with power or things that can't be controlled right away. What do you guys think?

I am just worried that Marvel will concentrate too much on the effects and leave the story behind. this definitely happened with X men 3, Dardevil and to a lesser extent the lastest Hulk. Now as a villan Hulk is certainly a great choice, because it provides the audience with someone else to root for. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing the Hulk kick some Avenger ass and as it is we definitely know that they arent going to kill off the Hulk so in the end everybody wins.

@TG

Wolverine was always more a part of the X-Men than the Avengers. The (very) original Avengers were Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, and Iron Man (no Cap). The villain was Loki who tricked the Hulk into destroying a railroad track and diverts the distress call intended for Tho to the other mentioned heroes. By the second or third issue, Ant-Man becomes Giant-Man, and Hulk realized how unstable he was and left the squad. This eventually leads to the thawing of Cap and his role as leader. The team had multiple heroes (and reformed villains) come in and out since then, but I don't ever recall Wolverine being one of them until the New Avengers in like 1994. Also, Wolverine's first appearance ever was in a Hulk comic.

Well like I said in another post, I think they would be smarter to get people that make sense and that are easier to tie into each other. Because some of the characters they have already are already established. Save that money, work more on the story.

It doesn't matter which year of the avenger they use as long as it's good. As long as it works.
