John Travolta As Famous As Elvis & Marilyn?

I recently saw a news story in which John Travolta said that he had reached the level of fame as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe but he had avoided the demise they did due to his religion of Scientology.

I really can't believe that Travolta considers himself as much of a cultural icon as Elvis or Marilyn - how ridiculous.

I think someone is having delusions of grandeur. :( He might be a half-way decent actor, but I don't think he'll ever reach that level of "stardom."

He wishes! I mean, come on! He's not even THAT good of an actor. And I honestly don't see how his being a part of Scientology is helping him not have the same downfalls. I guess it could, but I don't see it.

I think Travolta is way off base in his statement. I personally don't think he's even an icon in the realm of acting though I have been impressed that he's been able to resurrect his dying career so many times.

I think he is on the top of the world. Only thing is that he is the only one thinking that way. What a pity.

I think he's going to be one of those actors that goes the way of the doe doe bird. He has barely any talent at all. I even hated him in grease. Perhaps its just me but I seem to avoid all scientologist acted films, not on purpose. I just really dont enjoy Travolta or Tom Cruise, I think they are both horrible actors and really need to have a reality check. Yes they may have been cute in their younger years but now they are just getting old and its not pretty.

I read somewhere that Tom Cruise believes he can fly, because he reached some level in Scientology. That's really delusional, and I expect nothing less of him or Travolta or anyone else that is part of this cult.

I have to admit that I like Cruise as an actor (not as a person), but I can't stand Travolta. He's the biggest joke in Hollywood, yet he keeps making movies. And people keep going to see his movies, like Wild Hogs.

I agree with all of the comments posted here. I don't care for the acting abilitities of Travolta or Tom Cruise. I loved ashton's comment about them getting older and it not being pretty - hee hee.

I agree too, they are not looking pretty at all??? Has anyone seen recent pics of Travolta with his family? He looks like he's hit one too many buffets! And when someone asked him about his weight, his reply is his wife likes him with extra padding....um, i think thats just the loving aspect of your wife not wanting to be mean John! He's almost looking like an adult version of cartman from south park. :D
