We really enjoyed the Lord of the Rings series when it was out. My husband keeps saying that they need to go ahead and make the Hobbit, using the same locations, directors, etc. to make it consistent with the other movies. Do you think they should? Or should they let someone else make it?

New Line studios has already said they won't hire Peter Jackson to do "The Hobbit" although that may change. It's hard to know for sure. I thought he did a fine job on the trilogy and I'd like to see him at the helm for "The Hobbit", but we may have to settle for that old animated version. *sigh*
Damn... everytime someting good is about to happen and then it dosent. What a pity..

We have that animated series, and for what it is, it's okay. The Hobbit, however, BEGS to be made into a full-length movie. And you know it would make money, there are all those LOTR fans already waiting for the movie to be made!

What I read online somewhere suggested that there will be another prequel besides "The Hobbit". I don't know if they'll dip into The Silmarillion or what, but it doesn't bode well, IMO.

The hobbit sequel is something that has nothing to do with any of the books at all. It is suppose to have a lot of the cast from the lord of the rings
