A gothic horror film masterpiece - a beautiful, stylish work that distanced itself....One of the scariest films I've ever seen. And I'm not easily scared.

There were some scenes that were very frightening. The overall story of the movie was great and very watchable. It was fascinating to watch Nicholson's decent into madness. "REDRUM" - scary stuff.

Here is the plot for those who havent watched it yet.

A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.

This has to be one of the classic horror flicks everyone needs to see. You just can't beat a story by Stephen King and starring Jack Nicholson. Granted King has stated this movie did not turn out as he wished since he did not write the screenplay, but I think the original is much, much better than the remake that was shown on TV and King did write the screenplay for.
