Has anyone seen this movie yet? I read a couple of reviews online and most of them were really positive. They said this flick has a great twist and that Jim Carrey does a great job portraying a decent into madness.

Everything you heard is correct. I was blown away by his appearance in this film. There is one shot that is an extreme close up and it just freaks me out to see how well he pulled this off. Many kudos to Jim! :)

I thought The Number 23 was pretty close to being awful. It starts off very intriguingly as the Jim Carey character is reading the story in the begining and imagining him and others in the roles of the characters. But once Carey's character starts to become obsessed with the number 23 himself the grows increasingly silly and dumb and the ending is so SHOCKINGLY bad that it has to be seen to be believed.

I actually thought it was pretty well done as well. You really gotta look into a movie like this. I don't see why it sucked, maybe its just not your kind of movie, so who knows.

In the film when he reads the novel "Number 23" he does in fact imagine himself and other's as the characters in the story. But what he doesn't know till the end is that he is in fact the main character.

Which explains why there's two sides of the character, ying and yang, dark and light. Always like that for everybody. That's why it was so cool to have Jim Carrey take this role. We're seeing a side of the actor we've never seen before. That's what made it interesting.

What also made it interesting is that a number can actually be scary. Of course we all hate math, so that's scary too. What's also makes numbers scary is a a time bomb counting down. A movie showing numbers being scary, that's hard to do.

I like how it actually gives off some sort of comic book storyline. How gritty bad cop turned good without knowing it till the end. Except he's not a superhero. Although he is a hero in a way in the end because he gave up his time in prison for the other guy whose innocent.

There's alot of clues within the film, like colors & objects. Alot you gotta see and catch. Those are things that what makes the story become extremely deep. Emotionally too, because it's a huge change in one night to realize the person you used to be and you are now.

I agree. This movie went over very well for Carrey. Director, you should watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind. Its another film that has Carrey acting serious. I've watched it over and over, very well done. The emotion is very real, I enjoyed it.

Oh I've seen it, lol trust me and I loved it to death! I really liked that Jim Carrey was trying out for different roles than we're used to and what he's used to.

That's how I think every actor should do, is explore every possibilities in every genre. Doing one thing that sterotypes you automatically assumes that no one can see you do anything else but that. It's the only thing you can act. But what's cool is that Jim Carrey proved that one wrong, at least several times.

That's why he's considered extremely talented. Because he switches roles around and explores acting like any other actor/actress should.

Other than that, yeah the movie's great, I loved it, own it. Now I feel like watching it, thanks a lot for getting me started. lol. ;p
