I'm not necessarily talking about blood and gore, but movies that gave you the creeps or made you jump. My all time fave has to be "The Changeling" with George C. Scott. It came out back in 1979 or something and has no blood or gore, just a good solid ghost story. Excellent.

Several of the best scary films I've ever seen are "The Exorcist" (the original), "An American Haunting," and "Pet Semetary." I also thought the first "Saw" movie was really frightening.

It seems to me that "Magic" was also a good scary movie, and the original "The Sentinel". I can't find either of them on DVD, though. Off to eBay, I guess.

The one that got me was "Nomads" with Pierce Brosnan. Very few people have actually heard of it when I mention it, but it was very suspenseful. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I'm not even sure you can find it anymore, but if you have the chance, you ought to watch it.

Thanks for that tip. I like finding movies that most people don't know about. :) They're often pretty decent.

You're more than welcome. :) I really like Pierce Brosnan, so when we saw that he was in it, we grabbed it. It really was a good movie. Kept you guessing all the way to the end.

Pet Semetary really freaked me out as a child. I also get chills whenever I watch Silence of the Lambs and The Grudge. Even though I don't think that The Sixth Sense is that much of a horror movie, it still gives me chills as well.

I saw The Sixth Sense on DVD yesterday night. Its still a very nerve chilling movie. Also "Nomads" with Pierce Brosnan, I never heard about Brosnan doing suspense movies. Would be checking out soon and posting here about my experience.
