If they attempt to make a Wonder Woman, they should take it seriously. I am personally not a Wonder Woman fan. But just from looking at it from the old Justice League of America cartoon. They have a lot of things to tweak and re-invent in order to make it tie into reality. I don't mean to be mean, but the whole idea of a woman in a invisable plane with a shitty Macy Costume, kind of sound ridiculous.

Like I said, they better think very carefully before even attempting to make this into a movie of any kind...I may be wrong but who knows.

As I understand, the Wonderwoman film has been on hold for several years now, after the misogynist box office blows of Catwoman and Elektra. No feminine superhero has fared well at the box office to date, including the "MTV" ones - Aeon Flux and Ultraviolet. Not to go as far back as Supergirl, which seems more like an ideal choice of any...

I don't think it's a problem for many men to see a feminine superhero, but it's when they start flipping certain stereotypes around- like the damsel (dude???) in distress.

The show WW, as I understand, was an overtly feminist piece. I can't stand that shit and will not be lured into a film with a radical message.

Not to be mean about anything really, I say lets close this topic for now until someone can actually come up with a good feminine superhero. Or a reasonable one at the very least. Then there's not much to talk about on the subject except bad things and past failures.

Sure, we can talk about the good things. But what good things can we do about it if we really don't have the budget or the time to make something ourselves?

I think Supergirl is a good idea for a remake, but it would probably have to wait til after their Superman reboot...

ah correction! After their 3 Film deal of a new "Dark" Superman reboot. lol. Let's see how they can put Supergirl into a dark film!

Nay! Let's see how they can put SuperDog into a dark film!

Take that underdog...

Eh, we'll see about this "dark" reboot. I've never been a big fan of Superman, outside the movies, but if what I heard is correct, then it may be about time to use the Death of Superman as a starter.

I don't think their problem is that it needs to be dark. Superman Returns was decent as far as I was concerned, nothing absolutely stunning. It WAS Superman, so there were some crazy farfetched elements. (Like him lifting an entire crystal continent- made from kryptonite...)

Their reason was that Superman didn't do well with young boys...well, you could say that it's just a sign of the times, but what if they actually tried to come up with a better excuse than that?

Superman movies have never been outright retarded enough for little kids to understand. They have more intellectual, emotional fanfare. Specially the one Singer helmed with Routh. The one drawback about that I felt was the whole romantic part of it created its own stellar plothole warpfuck. But that's just me.

I was personally turned off. It's a tired cliche, even for Superman.

I was never a big fan of Superman either. But I do care a lot what they do to a film. I do care a lot whether they do a good job.

I do happen to agree with why Superman didn't do well. I just don't think it created that much of a hype these days as it did back then. I don'tk now maybe its because it is a new era, or maybe its because its just out of date.

I just don't think the world wants to see a man in blue tights and red underwear, running around the world saving people with laser eyes and super human strength.

Don't get me wrong, the movie was okay. I just don't think I was entertained enough or it wasn't good enough for me to watch again. I just think they need to think of a new direction for Superman, I don't care if it's dark or light. Just a new direction on everything in the Superman World.

Exactly. As a society, I think, it shows how more fatalist we've gotten - less wonder in our lives, etc. Who's to say if that's good or bad, I don't know. Sure, our entertainment has prospered, as the result of high-quality dramas about human life. I mean, there's a reason why they say the entertainment industry is recession-proof. But is this a case of life imitating art, or art imitating life?

Superman inspired, but he was born in an age without inspiration. That reputation came after. Perhaps it's all very cyclical, and he'll be in the hearts and minds of us all again, if they update his look and such ;).

Agreed. We gotta have something that inspires us again. If they find a way to do that again with Superman. Then it'd make Superman what it was back then. What it mean to people.
