I generally can't stand Nicolas... But this movie I can is OK. My friends 'n I liked it little. But the end result is unintentionally hilarious.

Wicker Man is the best movie. Obviously, it is terrible, but its unintentional humor will have you in stitches. I have a feeling this is the beginning of Nicolas Cage's career.

This is one I'm going to give a pass on. The original one was enough for me and I don't need to see yet another remake. Be nice to have more than one or two movies a year that are NOT remakes.

The first Wicker Man was about a cult. The remake is more about a dolt.
The '73 film was brilliantly constructed and ends with a punctuation mark that was shocking.

Instead of maintaining a mysterious tone to follow its suspenseful opening scenes, 'The Wicker Man' soon turns into something almost laughable.

Thanks for the cmments on "Wicker Man." Cable has been advertising this movie as a pay per view option and the previews look fascinating but the reviews here leave me less than optimistic that it may be worth the $3.99 tacked on to my $900/month cable bill (just a bit of sarcasm about the outragous price of cable.)

I'm glad I didn't waste my time, then. Thanks for the reviews and warnings, and I'll use my money on something else.

LOL. I really like your comparison here, bhar. I will continue to give this a pass and not waste my time. My daughter has probably seen it and I'll ask her what she thought. We generally have the same taste in movies.

But generally his movies are not that bad. May be this is an exception then. Saving money is always a good idea.

The Wicker Man occupies some silly, nebulous middle ground between mystery and horror. Not bad though...

I tend to agree with you there. This remake was just not as I thought it should have been. Some parts were just way out there and Nick Cage must not have been thinking too much when he took this script.

Exactly how I feel after watching it! I need to rent the original so I can see what I missed. I was quite pissed at the end of the movie like WTH?! I am a Cage fan, and I swear that his most recent is far better than wicker, but I really don't think wicker was all his fault - stupid writers. :(
