The movie is set to begin production in 2007. Jon Favreau is set to be the director. I'm not sure if he is the best choice for director. I think Brett Rattner, (Rush Hour) or Paul Anderson, (AVP) or even Renny Harlin, (Long Kiss Goodnight), would make a more action oriented film. I also collect Iron Man comics and toys. I have a huge collection and I only lack a few items to have everything ever made of iron man. They have not chosen anyone to play Tony Stark yet. I was thinking maybe Timothy Dalton, Johnny Depp, Daniel Day Lewis or George Cloney. They are all great mature actors and would help draw people to the box office.

You have to be careful with Depp, he might be a good actor, but he also has a goofy side, as we have seen in just about every movie he has ever made. I doubt he would want the role, but if he did, I think he would make the film more silly than serious. Honestly, since I saw Batman Begins, I have started to believe that any combination of Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan is going to be a huge hit. That's why I vote for them to make every movie from now on, including Iron Man.

I bought a magazine the other day and it says that Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow is Virginia "Pepper" Pots, Terrence Howard is Jim Rhodes, and Jeff Bridges is Obadiah Stane. That's all that I know.

Robert Downey Junior is okay, but I always imagined Iron Man as someone with more--something. Personality, maybe. Maybe it's just me.

Do you think Robert Downey Jr. will be able to stay clean long enough to complete a movie? I don't think I'd personally want to take that chance, not on something that could feasibly bring in a lot of money.

That's a good question. Be interesting to see if he can, or if they can film around his behavior. It's not like he'll be the first actor to turn up at work under the influence of something or other.
