hi, been lurking here :) finally saying hello...
I just saw a film that hit home for me & wanted to see what you all think - "The TV Set" with David Duchovny & Sigourney Weaver. LOVED it. I'm an actor in NYC so that's probably what made it extra special to me. It's centered around putting a pilot on the air for a major network. It hits home (well, it would even more, I'm sure, if I were in LA) making light of all the BS that really happens in the industry. Plus, there's a part where this horrible actor gets chosen over a very good one, just because he appeals to a broader (aka dumbed-down) audience... made me feel better about all my own unsuccessful auditions (and kind of unsure about the ones I HAVE landed :) ) The actor who plays him is great though, thank goodness!

Here's a trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP1C0zKcUy0

and the films website: www.thetvset.net

It opened last Friday here in NYC, so I think it'll open across the US over the next few weeks.
