Is the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie really happening? Now it just seems like a cruel hoax. If it is coming, any news on a release date?

Aqua Teen is not a Comedy Central show. That is a huge insult. The show is much smarter than anything found on Comedy Central. It is a Cartoon Network show. Shown during Adult Swim. You can watch it mon-thurs at 12m. New episodes are airing Sundays at 10:30p. The show is in it's 5th season. The writers of the show also produce and write the shows 12oz. mouse and Squidbillies. All shows are hilarious. Esspecially, Squidbillies. The 1st four seasons of Aqua Teen are available now on DvD. And, for a reasonable price. If you haven't checked out the Adult Swim lineup. You should(if you have a sense of humor). Not all shows may hit the mark all the time. But, most are good. This Sunday, is a perfect time to start watching. Some new episodes are still airing. You can catch: a rerun of Futurama at 10p. Usually, 2 episodes of Aqua Teen at 10:30p. One is usually new. A rerun of a recent Family Guy at 11p. Then it's all original stuff afterwords. Most notably, Assy Mcgee, Frisky Dingo(by the Sealab 2021 guys), and Morel Oral(a Rudolph The Rednose Reindeerish stop-motion that's pushes moral limits with every episode). I've been a fan of Adult Swim since "The Brak Show". If you know Brak then you know that's since the beginning. I am very glad to see the wonderful shows finally getting the "respek(knuckles)" it deserves.;)

Yes, it does seem that the ATHF movie may be something of a hoax, but fortunately, that is probably not the case. A few critics have confirmed that several screenings of the movie have already been shown and that the movie is indeed real.
The announcement that there was going to be a movie, was made at the 2005 Comic-Con by the creators of the show. Reportedly, it was made with a $750,000 budget, it will be about 80 minutes long and is expected to feature cameos from personalities like Dr. Katz, Bruce Campbell, and SNL's Fred Armisen.
At the "Adult Swim 4 Your Lives" show in Philly earlier this year, a 2 minute clip from the movie was shown, which may have been the first 2 minutes from the movie.
A one-minute long clip from the movie is currently available and we have it here:

The flick is expected to hit theaters sometime early in 2007 so keep your fingers crossed.
it is not a hoax. YAYYYYY!!!!!
(ok, there's always the possibility when I finally get to the movie theater and take my seat to watch, someone will come out & say "this was a hoax!" but.... ) :D

Yes there is a real Aqua teen movie, and I wasted 12.00 to see it. :( I love Aqua Teen but for some reason it was like they just couldnt keep it up for the length of a movie. Worth seeing but wait for dvd or for cartoon network to show it.
