Best Bond ever! and Daniel Craig was the perfect person to play Bond. It was different and exciting, unlike other Bonds.:)

I am about as big a Bond film fanatic as you are likely to find. I somehow saw the first Bond movie at the age of 3 or 4 and grew up with the series. I've seen each movie at least a couple of times, some dozens of times when I was younger. 20 some years later, I'm still a big fan, but during the Brosnan era I always thought that the best Bond films were now history.
I have to say that Casino Royale is one of the best Bond movies in the entire series, period. Certainly the best Bond flick since For Your Eyes Only. It is not only about the adventure, but also about the character - about a rough killer becoming the cold, refined, heartless spy of Ian Fleming's novels. It's serious and still amazingly entertaining without the goofiness that was begining to run rampant during the Brosnan era. For the first time in a dozen years, I'm truly looking forward to the next release because Casino Royale was exactly what the franchise needed. And for a Bond flick - a surprising amount of depth. It actually resonates a little after viewing. I don't know who to thank for that. Was that Paul Haggis' impupt? Or was it director Martin Campbell, who, now after looking back, also crafted what was probably the best Brosnan movie - Goldeneye.

I am hesistant to give such positive reviews to this movie. In my honest opinion, Daniel Craig is weak as James Bond. He lacks the refinement and the cleverness of Bond as portrayed by Pierce Brosnan.
Casino Royale just didn't seem like a true James Bond Movie. It seemed more like Diehard than like Goldfinger. Craig didn't convey the right attitude.
Anyway, that's just my two cents.

I dont think so. I think Daniel Craig did a good job although I liked Brosnan more. He was so English and handsome.

I have not had the opportunity to see it yet. However i am reluctant because it seem to not stay in the theaters very long at all. maybe it is just the area that I am in. past experience says when a movie leaves theaters quickly it was not as well as they hoped and will come out on DVD quickly.
I never like brosnan as a bond. So anyone would be better than him.

An excellent Bond movie, although they made this film how the books were and Daniel Craig played the part how he was meant to be before they made the films more family orientated. An excellent movie, one id recommend to anyone.

I personally would have prefered to retain Pierce Brosnan as the bond for casino royale. he was more suave, gentleman, sexy and masculine that Daniel Craig, although DC was also fine. With the change of bond I have almost lost craze for watching bond movies.

I think he did a pretty good job, after all, not many can attempt to fill B's shoes.

I thought this bond did a good job but I like the old ones the best like Dr. No with the real bond Sean Connery
