Since "all of us" know that comic books aren't just "superhero" funnybooks -woops, except for guitardudester91 (and jetdog), I thought we might spark a little more original discussion on some parts of the medium that show great potential for film transfers.
For example, as I was going through on Amazon, I noticed this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Sundown/dp/B0012LPQHI/ref=sr_1_41?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232356097&sr=8-41
This story seems about right - the Old Cowboys and Monsters trope, which hasn't been done in a while really. Videogames and D2D-quality productions a la Sci-fi Channel are nothing new, but this one looks like it could genuinely be good source material.
I remember there was a mini-series, can't remember if it was Hallmark, but years ago, they had famous heroes from the Alamo come to a wild west version of Purgatory, which I thought was clever, and intended to revisit their idea sometime later. This seems to have a similar premise, but obviously completely different and darker plot.
It's called Sundown.
Can anyone else think of any examples of "graphic novels/manga/one-shot comics" they would like to see adapted?

Hey asshole. I fuckin said that Ronin would be a cool movie because it is so unique as a graphic novel. Sorry that on a technicality I posted it as thinking Ronin was a superhero. But I put that in their, and comics are more than Superheroes. But you didn't get my question or responses, because you are too busy acting like an asshole and starting a new thread, ONCE AGAIN ACTING LIKE YOU ARE BETTER THAN ME. YOU ARE A FUCKING ASSHOLE!! Please, to anyone else reading this, take a look at the Batman Begins 3 villains thread. He comes in like hes the greatest fucking ting, and tells everyone all his shitty opinions. Actin like he is a part of the whole thing. Well fuck you and arrogant assholes likes you bugmenot. Maybe you should try seeing other peoples opnion before taking the whole fucking forum into your own direction.

I'd prefer it if you don't fuck up my thread like you do others, Dudester. Oh and BTW, my thread is perfectly legitimate. You posted about "superheroes" and while you may have realized your idiocy actually cost you some points for once, that does not make the topic invalid.
Oh but wait! You don't care if it's valid or not, you're afraid of anyone coming off "better than you". Leave now troll and forever hold your peace.

Ahem, uh Fuck you. and oh wait , fuck you. You are an asshole. Im going totroll your thread just for the fun of it. Fuck you. See I think your daddy beat you when you were younger, or maybe your mommy didn't love you enough, so now you have no life, come on to forums, and totally go of on whoever doesn't see things your way. Fuck you again.
Oh and fuck you.

Wouldn't that prove our point if you do troll it? Just chillax and let's talk about it.
In Dudester's defense, he did say Ronin in a different thread. Again, that would be a cool idea Dudester.
He never said he was better than you and I never talked down to you Dudester, just explaining something doesn't mean talking down to you. I don't mind being wrong when I am actually wrong, and I'll even admit it when I am. So chill.
And yeah Bugmenot, I do like the old Cowboys and Monster idea. That's something that hasn't been done in ages. I can really see that in a Grindhouse style. I've always loved that style the most in films.

Well thank you TGDirector for sticking up for me. And I just felt like you guys think you know everything, and bugmenot was starting to get on my nerves. So I guess he just pissed me off.
But anyways, Ronin I think would be cool if they did it. I mean when it came out, it was kind of a weird story, and the artwork was pretty unique. It would be a challenge I suppose, but hey, I'd watch it.
Anything you would like to add TGDirector? If theres anything that has to do with "superheroes only", maybe you'd better put it into the other thread, so you don't make bugmenot angry.

Ronin's not too bad of a book. Would be cool to see them do one of the lesser popular anime that people don't know about. I just always found that interesting when someone askes "That was an anime/graphic novel? really?"
Then that book or novel whatever, gets bought. People start to read more.
On a different note: Anybody else disappointed with the Dragonball trailer despite us fans are gonna see it anyways just to see how they do? I kind of wish they went a little bit more realistic with it. I like the actors they chose, don't get me wrong on that one. But I just think it could've been better in style and story-wise.
I hate Fox...I swear it..

It seems like you guys run your own little show here, so my post might interfere, but who cares tomorrow?
I would like to see the Walking Dead being made into a tv-series. It's too vast for being just a feature film, but if you made into a series (HBO or Showtime), it could work.

With the right director at the helm, mainly one suited for the genre, I would like to see the manga M.D. Geist adapted.
Seems like it's about the right time to attempt it what with all of the end of days, post-apocalyptic blah-blah-blah going on in todays world.
The sci-fi manga Appleseed with its cyberpunk overtone is ripe for the picking too.
Would love to see them both adapted...especially in the IMAX format.
