Hey all, I know a lot of people have been wondering about the new Batman movie, and it seems to be a very hot topic. So I decided to start this thread:

What superhero movie would you like to see next? Maybe include a small sypnosis with your idea?

I think I would like to see a Martian Manhunter movie, or a Wonder Woman movie. It would be cool to have DC introduce all of their properties, then combine the characters into the Justice League, but I probably have wishful thinking.

Show me some hot shot pilot and all around arrogant douche Hal Jordan scoring his ring and being told he's a galactic police man and I'm a happy camper.

I'd say Deathstroke.

Let's hear the story of how Deathstroke really began, how he lost his eye. Where he went, who he killed. How did he become the man he is today. He had a family, son, daughter, and a wife.

This was a man who used to care to a man so murderous and does jobs for money. Let's hear this story. It's different, sad, and I'd say a pretty strong story.

Another one I'd be interested in is Ronin, by Frank Miller.

I know its non-canon with the DC world, but hey, if they can do Watchmen and 300, maybe this one would be a cool one. Its really a unique story, and would be cool to see Zack Snyder or someone try their hand at it.

To tell you the truth, I'm kinda burnt out on Hollywood mining comicbooks nonstop right now. Eventually, they're gonna kill their cash cow, the way farmers would ruin topsoil by overfarming...draining soil of their nutrients. I think some more off-beat Marvel characters like Deadpool would be interesting to see. Or even Lobos from DC- you know, characters that aren't necessarily superheroes. But I'm totally ready to move on.

The formula is tired. Origin movie - sequel - conclusion. Or no origin - sequel - conclusion. I think existing properties should be given a chance-by-chance basis, and failed properties a second life (e.g. Daredevil), but honestly...who says the movies has to be the dumping ground for comic books? How about TV or such? Or games? There's a variety of mediums that certain properties might be better suited for.

Let's get some original stuff in there and quit the cardboard, cookie cutter crap.

Well then don't write in this forum if you don't wanna talk about future movies. I mean Jesus Christ, you pretty much blew your load over talking about the naxt Batman movie, but then you turn around and say you are burned out on comic adaptations. So either answer the initial post or don't write in it.

Also, everyone else, I don't care what movie you want to see, and I won't act like I know everything. I have my own opinion, and I will respect yours, not tell you that you are wrong and make my views the most important. Also, I won't talk down to you either. this is a thread for EVERYBODY, and I will respect that.

So any other ideas?

I think Bugmenot has a point though dude. It's exactly what's gonna happen. Sooner or later, studios will burn all their money on all those comic book movies. It's not so much as he doesn't want to see it or that he doesn't enjoy watching or talking about comic movies.

We all do. The point is that studios may be moving way too fast to rely on just comic book films. I hardly see anything orginal come out through films or anything. It's all about the Comic Book Hype now. And if you do rely on that, eventually you're gonna run out of ideas on a comic book film. Sure, anybody can come up with a comic book. Anybody can write a story. This is where I am going to agree with Bugmenot, I want somebody to write something fresh.

That's what he's talking about is the future. If you want it good & bright, then let's write something fresh. Something new, something that hasn't come out yet. Use some creativity, some brains.

Oh big surprise. You agreed with bugmenot. Hmmm.... heard of Gran Torino? or lets see.... Cloverfield?..... ummm Grindhouse?..... anything to do with Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez?.... I Am Legend?... James Bond?....Just because hollywood does one thing that makes it big, you assholes on here assume that everybody thinks the same way you do. Now for God's sake, don't write on forums or threads unless you are talking about the TOPIC.

They aren't fucking RELYING on anything. They are just taking comics to a different medium.

I wrote this to see what other people would like to see transferred from comics to screen. Not for you two assholes, who think you know everything, to come on here and make a fucking arguement with what anybody has to say. I mean shit, I tried to agree with you in the last thread, and you totally fuckin talked down to me and jetdog, acting like you knew more shit than anybody else on here. So fuck you. If you don't wanna write what you think would make a good adaptation, then don't fuckin write on here.

Why do you think I act like I'm so much better than you? Could it be because you genuinely are retarded and don't put much effort into what you write to warrant a kind and intelligent response?

I don't go out of my way to pew-pew little logic bubbles at idiots like you, y'know. I put just about this much thought into everything unless I'm really lazy, or fed up with your kind.

Every time I come across a dipshit like you, I ask myself - did this idiot even read my reply? I mean, truly understand it? And I know of course they didn't. Oh, sure - I'm arrogant right for assuming that? That's what you're thinking.

Please, you fuck. You're confirming your idiocy for everyone. Perhaps the saddest part is you don't know you are. I gave my honest opinion, did NOT detract or hijack your god-forsaken thread, even going so far as to name suggestions for other properties. But of course, that would kill your little shit argument right then and there that I was "off-topic" wouldn't it?

We know that Hollywood uses the same conventions day in and day out, but it's a broader field than just comics. And more often than not, they all fall back on the same damn plot. So yes, that is RELYING on something, you little shit.

And btw, you and Jetdog were the ones who hijacked the Batman thread - not once, but twice, if I'm correct. First, you started on TG, then Jetdog started on me. It was like WW-fucking I and II over there with you retards.

TG is much better at keeping his composure than me, so I think that's one thing that we don't quite "agree" on, if it suits you, because when I see retards like you, I know that there's only one person to blame for your condition and it's you.

Honestly, we were never "arguing anything" but trying to qualify someone else's rationale for you to see. We just HAPPENED to agree with them, but that makes us cocky bastards who "know better". That's the essence of hypocrisy right there. It's the perfect strawman bait and switch. If anyone, you and Jetdog are the trolls here and I would appreciate it if you gave everyone equal respect so long as they address the topic, but I guess that's asking too much of you isn't it?

Oh and P.S.: You demonstrate a poor understanding of what a comic book is if you think this forum is just for superhero movies. Again, though, it's pretty appropriate of you. No one can possibly believe that comics = more than superheroes, right?

There you go again. "Your kind." "Retards like you." "idiots like you." etc.

YOu are an asshole who must not have gotten enough attention as a child. I read your fucking response, and I asked you to stop fucking causing problems. I just wanted to see what OTHER PEOPLE wanted to see in another superhero movie, and you get on here, and once again, act like you are hot shit. That's all you ever do. YOu talk down to everyonewho doesn't see things the way you do, and are just an asshole. So fuck it, maybe I'll just close this thread so assholes like you, oh wait, see now Im acting like you. FUCK OFF YOU SHIT FOR BRAINS.

There you go again. "Your kind." "Retards like you." "idiots like you." etc.

YOu are an asshole

WRONG! There YOU go again. What did I say before in my post? I laid out your entire next reply for you, and you haven't done anything different. Where was I wrong? You came back and did exactly what I expected you to, but then again, it's not hard to predict how a retard like you thinks. Everything I said you would use to ridicule me you did in that last paragraph. Now that's pretty sad when you do exactly what I said you would do, but maybe you thought I was giving you advice or something, because you seem to think "you're acting like me".

Would it really make you happy if everyone in the world called you a retard? Hmm, would that be enough proof for you? The ONLY thing that I did, only thing that I EVER did, was answer in reply to a topic, and now you're spilling it out for everyone to see. You can't keep this shit on one topic can you? Because you know you lost?

Look, I just started visiting these forums and happened to notice you trolling someone because he happened to have different opinions than you. You called him a fuckhead, a retard, etc. All he did is apologize and try to explain further to you. Did that make him a retard? I wasn't interested in the thread before, but seeing as how you went off pretty much unprovoked, I had to say something. Sorry that I came off as a "hot shit", after all, it's kinda hard for you to say that and be unbiased when I'm calling you off for being an overbearing asshole in the first place.

Now look what we have here? You doing the same thing. Yes, you're right. Everyone can go to a thread and see you act like a moron. The only thing you have against me is that I don't think that Superman should be in a Batman movie. Amazing how much that's pissing you off. Get it? I. Think. Superman. Should. Not. Be. In. A. Batman. Movie. That's basically what it comes down to you. You're pissed off cause I think that, and you're like the goddamn thought police or something.

You argue so much about how YOU'RE the right one and so innocent in all this, how I'm the asshole, and yet go off and spout all kinds of shit that shows you don't know what you're talking about. How dare I call you on it, right?

Go ahead, close your thread. You're right, you would be the asshole in that situation. But from the way you've been so far, I don't think anyone would be surprised.

Once again, fuck you. Also, I could give a shit if you think superman should be in a batman movie. Really I could. But now since you think you've turned the tables on me, I think I will make fun of you some more. Sure, Im a retard. but let's see. Im going to spend all day writing four hour long posts to superhero forums, telling everyone I have no life, so then I should be entitled to know everythinhg.Remind you of anyone? Oh, fuck you. And on a side note, this forum is for everybody, not just you once again acting like you know everything. Dude, you need to stop being an asshole. Seriously.

TGDirector

He's not trying to be an asshole, dude. Niether am I. Nowhere did we try to be a dick or anything. I am simply trying to explain to you calmly and just in a way you can understand or anybody for that matter can understand.

When something doesn't make sense to you or the one thing you don't like, you'll fly off the handle. I am not the one calling you stupid or retarded or anything. Like Bugmenot said, I can keep my composure better than he can. He calls you that because you're being a dick. I only keep my composure because there's nothing to really get pissed off about.

It's a movie forum, not just a comic book forum. We talk movies here. There's nothing to get mad about. The only thing anybody should be at the most is, annoyed. I am just annoyed that I have to repeat myself over and over again. This only takes me a total of 3-10 minutes to post a thread and that's it. I read the previous threads at least twice before continuing so that I make sure I don't miss anything.

Just think about what you're saying before you argue. And when you do argue, make sure you have all your facts and make sure it makes sense before you post. When you do post, just expect someone to disagree. Be prepared to argue your case. I don't agree with everything Bugmenot says and he certainly doesn't agree with everything I say.

If you want that proof, go to the Mortal Kombat Forum and you'll see us kind of going back and forth. Try joining and try helping us make sense of the project and how we can make this work. Simple as that.

Gonna be disagreement, gonna be agreement, gonna be some mysteries. Gotta just help each other understand, so we can further the thread, the film. That's how the film industries do it. Just sit down and talk it out.

Oh I totally know. This is a movie forum, hell even a movie site. I'm just tired of bugmenot "explaining" stuff to me. I'm not a fuckin child. He should take some of your advice. There will be arguements. I know that, and i started argueing nicely avout them. I only flew off the handle when he started being asinine to me previously. I mean, ok, if you don't want to see more comic book movies, that's your business. But don't come in here and talk all this stuff about how they are taking advantage of hollywood, blah blah blah. I understood you when you didn't want Hollywood relying on comics as their only source. I don't either. And TGDirector, I don't have a problem with you. I like you man, I mean shit, I may go off sometimes, but bugmenot doesn't help. I like debating or talking or whatever with you, because you don't have to come in here and belittle me. Im not saying that you were. Sorry again for the sarcastic posts directed towards you. I was just getting frustrated that you guys, to me anyway, would rather not listen to my side of it and just shut down the whole idea of this thread.

I just wanted to see if anybody else wanted to see any other comics turned to movies. I was also upset about bugmenot coming in here and "To tell you the truth, I'm kinda burnt out on Hollywood mining comicbooks nonstop right now. Eventually, they're gonna kill their cash cow" because he went crazy in the other thread trying to, once again, "explain" all about the Batman movie. Well what do you think the studios are anticipating and hoping for??? TDK is second highest in film history, and they are going to want another one. They now see that if they don't fuck it up, super hero movies and comic movies are a good bit.

I also went on to explain that that's not all they are relying on. the movies I named off were original, and good.

So sorry again TGDirector, I didn't mean to offend you or anything.

Now you can bet that bugmenot will come in here having a problem and be an asshole again. If he doesn't, good. I don't want a problem, I just want to get my side out before he comes in here and starts his shit.

TGDirector
01-20-2009, 03:31 AM
I am not offended or anything, I take movies really seriously as you can tell. I love talking about it. But I don't see a real good reason to get entirely pissed off about little things we have absolutely no control over but to talk about it. If it was my way, trust me, I'd do one hell of a project.

Of course since TDK is one of the highest grossing film in history. I am just hoping they learn on what made it the highest grossing film. I am pretty Warner Bros knows damn well what makes their movies good.

It's Fox that needs to learn. They're kind of starting to, but I still think Fox is just money hungry most of the time. They usually are.

I am just looking to see different films being done, both new and old ideas. I mean, when was the last time we heard of a person making up a superhero in today's time? BESIDES Captain Hammer & Dr. Horrible. They don't count, as much as I love them. I think that's what Bugmenot was trying to say.

It's not so much as he doesn't want to talk about it or anything, I just think he wants something new entirely with the film industry and he's afraid that they're gonna rely way too much comic book adaptations. Which I can see where he's coming from and I am sure you can too.

Don't worry I understand where everyone's coming from. Some people can see some things other's cannot, simple as that. We're all blind one way or another I guess you can say.

Back to the thread: What Superhero would I like to see next?

Well, like I said Deathstroke would be an awesome story, I would just hope it doesn't have the same curse as The Punisher movies.

I would like to see an unknown superhero/villian being made. An unpopular comic so to speak.

(In other notes, I'd like to see your arguements in the MK Reboot, if you don't mind :P)

I bought A witchblade comic the other day, during Free Comic Day! So I haven't read that series before, I think it would be cool to see turned to the big screen. i've seen the anime before, but Live-Action would be fun to experiment with. Also, a Green Lantern movie needs to get rolling. Hopefully that happens soon.

This might be off topic, but I don't care so much on which the new movies are, as long as they are good. Cause it's exist so many comic-books and graphic novels out there, you can't read them all. You can, however, watch them in theatres. Maybe not all, select them which seems good. Comic-books fits the screen quite well, and it's no wonder that Hollywood make a bunch of them now. They have the techniques to make them look good, and people have a craving for them. Movies have always gone through different periods, and we seems to be living in the comic-book era. It'll fade out soon enough, but for the moment, just roll with it.
